Rotterdam – Steven I. Parks Sr., 55, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, February 6th, 2023. Steven was born in Niskayuna, to his parents the late Irven and Ann Marie (Crooks) Parks. He graduated from Mohonasen High School in 1985 and went on to earn his Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Herkimer County Community College. Steve began his career working security at Sikorsky Aircraft in Connecticut and most recently worked as a registered nurse at Albany Memorial Hospital after graduating from their nursing program. Steve loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. Growing up at Rollerama, Steve passed on his love of roller-skating to his children as well as many other fond memories. Steve was an avid Buffalo Bills and Boston Red Sox fan. He was also a huge Elvis Presley fan. As the founder of the Rotterdam Watch Facebook page, Steve had a lifelong passion for giving back and helping his community. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and being a loving and caring person who would help anyone in need. Above all things, Steve’s deep love for his family, friends and his dogs will be the lasting legacy he leaves behind. Steve is survived by his three children, Bryan J. Parks (Julie), Steven I. Parks Jr. (Julia) and Gabriella Saglimbeni (Nicholas Santuccione); his beloved grandchildren, Ava, Emma, Chloe and the late Dino. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Stickney (Todd), nephew and niece, Jordan and Kelsey and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours for Steve will be held on Sunday, from 12-4pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, with a prayer service to follow at 4pm. A graveside service will begin on Monday at 11am at Schenectady Memorial Park, where Steve will be laid to rest.
