Stephen L. Montenaro

ROTTERDAM- Stephen L. Montenaro, 72, passed peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Born on February 18, 1952, he was the loving son of June and Stephen Montenaro of Schenectady, NY. He was a Schalmont High School graduate and a resident of the Schenectady ARC, both Pine Ridge and Maple Ridge facilities and a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish. Stephen’s interests included assembling models, coloring, painting, playing video games and joining his friends for lunch and activities at day program. There was nothing more important to him than his family and he cherished every moment with them, especially his nephews. Stephen was predeceased by his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters Gail Kriss and Sandy DeBiase (Paul), nephews Joe Kriss, Michael DeBiase, Jason Kriss (Brittany Brower), and Matthew DeBiase (Tammy Valentino) and many aunts, uncles and cousins. We wish to express our deepest gratitude and thanks to his ARC caregivers who have provided second to none care for him throughout the years, especially the staff at Kirvin House, where has resided for the past several years.

Funeral services will he held Tuesday November 19, 2024 at 12 noon in the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with his family at the funeral home prior to his service from 10 am to 12 noon. Interment will be in Sts. Cyril and Method Cemetery, Rotterdam.
