Stella D (Coneski) Housel

Guilderland - Stella D. Housel passed away peacefully at the age of 97 in Albany, NY on August 11, 2018. Born in Watervliet, NY on February 27, 1921, Stella was the daughter of the late Anthony and Frances (Milos) Coneski, and lived in the area all her life. Stella was the beloved mother of Gilbert (the late Linda), Mark (Theresa), Tyler (Robin) Housel, and the late Katharine Loughney (Patrick). She is survived by 8 Grandchildren and 3 Greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Mary Chiplock, her sister-in-law Mary Anne Coneski, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Stella was predeceased by siblings Anna Szurley, Victoria Piston, and Paul Coneski. Stella worked for the New York State Department of Labor for 10 years, and later for the Department of Criminal Justice Services where she retired in 1990. She belonged to several Golf Clubs, the 70+ Ski Club, the Tri-City Tennis Club, and the Guilderland Bridge Group. She also enjoyed painting, gardening, and playing Scrabble with her sisters. Stella was a member of the Christian Science Church. A memorial service for family and friends will be held for Stella by private invitation.
