Rotterdam - Stanley (Stan) Naparty, 75 of Rotterdam, passed at Maplewood Manor after a long illness on the evening of February 12, 2014 with his daughters by his side. Stan the son of the late Stephen and Mary Naparty was born and lived in Rotterdam his whole life.Stan attended Draper High School, he served in the Air Force National Guard and was a member of the Polish American Veterans on Cutler Street in Schenectady. Stan and his late wife Pauline were the proprietors of Second Chance Consignments where he performed antique lamp repair. Stan enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was instrumental in establishing the Rotterdam Girls Softball League where he proudly coached his daughter's team. Stan was predeceased by his wife of 53 years Pauline Naparty; his parents Stephen and Mary Naparty; sister Eleanor Meyers and brother Albert Naparty. Stan is survived by his daughters, Lorie Naparty-Taylor (Cindy) of Saratoga Springs, NY and Lynn Naparty, of Greenville, SC; two sisters Henrietta Trombley of Schenectady, NY and Grace (Rudy) Vojnar of Schenectady, NY and extended family. Calling hours will be held Monday, February 17, 2014 from 12 to 2 p.m., short service will follow at De-Marco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderburg Ave., Rotterdam. Burial will take place after the service at Schenectady Memorial Park, 566 Giffords Church Rd. The family wishes to thank the staff at Maplewood Manor for their caring and kindness during Stan's stay at their facility over the last year and to The Community Care Hospice of Saratoga.
