Stanley N. Karpinski

ROTTERDAM - Stanley N. Karpinski, 94, passed away on Tuesday September 3, 2024. He was born in Schenectady on July 2, 1930 to the late Stanley and Victoria Karpinski. After graduating from Mont Pleasant High School in 1948, Stanley began his 41 year career at General Electric Co., retiring in 1989. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Panama. He also graduated from a manufacturing studies course at GE. Stanley was a past member of the Pine Hill Beagle Club, and was an AKC Judge in field trials, a member of the Allegro and Cotillion Dance Clubs, and served as a chairperson of the Allegro Dance Club, a member of the Rotterdam Elks, a member of the Abounding Grace Christian Church, and was a past president of the GE Retiree Association. He volunteered as an aide at a christian school and led the Alternative Healing Class at the Rotterdam Senior Center. He met his wife Rita at the Cains Castle Dance Hall, and they were frequent patrons of the Chuck Wagon Diner. Stanley was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Brian Karpinski, his siblings, Florence I. Karpinski, Andrew M. Karpinski, Charlotte Campbell, Anna Ferrante, and Florence Karpinski; and his nephew, Alan Ferrante.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Rita Franco Karpinski; his son, Steven Karpinski; his sister-in-law, Anne Gagnon; his niece, Alice (Paul) Scott; his nephew, Ronald D. (Beth) Gagnon; his niece, Wendy (Tim) Sully; and 6 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday September 9th from 10am to 12pm at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Tpke, Guilderland, followed by a funeral service at 12pm. He will then be laid to rest at the Schenectady Memorial Park. No flowers will be accepted.
