Stanley L Dean Jr

Altamont- Stanley L. Dean, Jr. of Altamont, NY, a dedicated family man, passed away at home on June 3, 2021. Born in Delhi, NY in 1933, he was the son of Dr. Stanley and Gertrude (Wagner) Dean. Stan married the love of his life, Norma Wallace, in 1954. They moved to Altamont in 1960 where they raised their family. Since his retirement in 1995, after 25 years with the Guilderland School District, Stan continued to be active in the Altamont Reformed Church, serving on numerous committees. He was also active with the Altamont Senior Citizens until his passing. He loved spending time with his family, picnicking, swimming and boating in the Adirondacks. He also enjoyed playing golf with friends and family. He was an avid sports fan, a passion he shared with his son, Stan. He was predeceased by his wife Norma on May 10, 2021. He was also predeceased by his son Robert, and his brother, Wayne. Stan is survived by his son, Stan III, as well as daughters Diane (Steve) Van Buren and Nancy (Paul) Warner. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrea (Steve) Witham, Michael Dean (Scott), and Caitlyn Dean (Tucker). A private service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Stan’s memory to the Altamont Reformed Church P.O. Box 671 Altamont, NY 12009.
