Silvio Ferri, 82 of Rotterdam, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 26th. Silvio was born in Arpino, Italy, and came to the United States in 1961 determined to make a good life for himself. He worked in construction through Local #156 for many years and then was employed by Campbell Plastics for several years before he retired. Silvio was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church and a member of the Sons of Italy in Rotterdam. Devoted to his family, Silvio enjoyed helping his children with projects and seeing them do well in school and in their chosen work. He found special joy in helping to raise his grandchildren. Silvio also enjoyed gardening, making wine, and helping his wife and daughter at Ferri Formals and Bridals, overseeing construction and remodeling projects for the family business. Silvio was predeceased by his parents, Dominico and Luisa Casinelli Ferri and his brother, Carlo Ferri. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Pasqualina Marsella Ferri; his children, Tonino (Daniella) Ferri and Marylu Aragosa; three grandchildren: Giulia, Thomas, and Sylvia, who was named after her beloved grandfather. In honor of Silvo’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 210 Princetown Rd. Entombment will be at Schenectady Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
