Sharon L. Munroe-Raber

June 6, 1963 — September 5, 2023

East Berne – Sharon L. Munroe-Raber, 60, of East Berne, died surrounded by Family and Friends at St. Peter’s on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, after sudden illness at her home on Saturday, September 2, 2023.

Born in Albany, NY, Sharon graduated from Berne-Knox High School in 1981 and Hudson Valley Community College in 1984 with an AAS in Marketing.  She worked in various roles in administrative support, including Nortel Networks, but really found her love doing marketing and event coordination at John Boyd Thacher State Park.

Sharon had many hobbies from cooking and baking, to enjoying animals, birds, and nature, as well as sewing.  She had her own bridal shop for several years, “On Pins and Needles”, where she could apply many of her talents. Many years were spent at Sunset Bay on Great Sacandaga Reservoir, camping and boating during our son, Chris’, younger years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Helen Stratton Munroe and sister Genevieve E "Gennie" (Munroe) Conrad.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 38 years, Thomas Raber, son, Christopher (Sarah) Raber of Guilderland, two sisters, Bea Farina (the late Joseph) of Guilderland, Darlene “Dolly” Williman (the late Charles) of Blairs VA, brother-in-law Michael (Christine) Raber, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life will occur at a later time. Because of Sharon’s great love for animals, the family suggests memorial donations be made to:
