With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Sharon Mason on March 7, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever live on in our hearts. Sharon and Brian Mason were married in 1967. Sharon and Brian went on to have three daughters, Amy Hochmuth, Bridy Lucas and Tara Scaccia.
In addition to her role as a loving mother, Sharon took immense joy in her role as a Nana and gran-Nana. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren, sharing stories and imparting wisdom.Her legacy of love will continue to flourish through the generations she leaves behind.
Sharon was an incredible cook and shared her love and pride in her Irish heritage through food. Sharon had a wicked sense of humor. She loved to spend time at their family’s camp at Cossayuna Lake, vodka martinis extra extra dry with a twist, Almond Joys and I Love Lucy. A devoted dog lover, she found solace and companionship in the loyal company of her furry friends. She had a special connection with animals and treated each one with boundless affection and care.
Among her many passions, Sharon was also the proud owner of "Hair of the Dog” dog grooming, a testament to her love for dogs. Sharon dedicated much of her life showing and raising collies.
Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will remain a guiding light, reminding us to embrace each day with love, laughter, and kindness. She is survived by her husband Brian, Daughters Amy (Tom) Hochmuth, Briday Lucas and Tara (Mike) Scaccia). Grandchildren: Chelsey (Nate) Newmyer, Colby (Kieron) Shitama, Brian (Angel) Hochmuth, Brent, Mason, Riley, Brody and Avery Lucas, Attilio, Sophia and Michael Scaccia and great grandchildren Sean, Faye Shitama and Nolan Newmyer along with a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 8:30-10 am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, followed by a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at Our lady Queen of Peace church.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St Jude Children's Hospital an organization she felt strongly about.
