Santina Massaroni Pede

Schenectady - Santina Massaroni Pede, 94, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 1, 1927 in Monte San Giovanni, Italy, she was the daughter of Antonio Massaroni and Marianna Mancini Massaroni. On November 2, 1948, she married the love of her life, Sante Pede, a founder of Pede Bros., and together they shared 34 years of marriage until his death in 1982. She started her life in America working in glove factories doing piece work and was considered the fastest at her job. She retired from Campbell Plastics in 1994 and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her sister Anita Massaroni her brother Italo “Al” Massaroni, sisters in law Josephine Massaroni and Yolanda Pede, brothers in law Anello Coratti, Peter and Donato Paolucci, and Ettore Massaroni. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Rosemary Centi (Daniel) of Guilderland and Gina Pede of Rotterdam, 5 grandchildren, Daniel (Lisa), Justin (Amanda) Jacqueline (Judson), Lisa and Stephen (Cara), 12 great grandchildren, Parker, Sophia, Harrison, Rowan, Brandon, Evangeline, Danny, Brian, Judson, Theodore, Alana and Camryn, her beloved brother Americo “Muzzy” Massaroni and several much loved nieces and nephews here and in Italy. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, 3 -6 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin on Monday, 9:45 am from the funeral home, followed at 11 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Church. Entombment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to St. Anthony’s Church, 331 Seward Pl.,Schenectady, 12305.
