Sandy Orologio, 70, of Rotterdam Junction, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Ellis Hospital.
Born on November 2, 1954, in Schenectady, Sandy graduated from Schalmont High School and was a devoted mother and a proud grandmother who cherished her family. She loved family dinners and celebrations, baking, trips to Florida, games of cornhole, painting, and every moment spent with the people she loved.
Those who knew Sandy will remember her kind and generous heart, her unconditional love for her family, and the joy she found in life’s simple moments. She was happiest when surrounded by her beloved grandchildren and gave her whole heart to her family every single day.
Sandy is survived by her husband, David Orologio, Sr.; her children, Pam Sullivan and David Orologio, Jr. (Megan Printsky); her brothers, Chuck Townsend and Scott Townsend; and her grandchildren, Kit Orologio, David Orologio III, Chloe Orologio, and Matteo Petraccione; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Ruth Townsend, and her sister, Lynn Simonds.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at DeMarco–Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam.
A Celebration of Life will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Knotty Pine in Rotterdam Junction, where all are invited to attend.
