Sandra Diane (France) Lawrence

Rotterdam- Sandra Diane Lawrence, 69, of Rotterdam passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on November 5, 2017. She was born on November 15, 1947 in Schenectady NY to James and Anna Violet France. She was a lifetime resident of Schenectady. She was a happy, fun loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Sandy graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1965 and began her career as a stenographer for the State of New York. She eventually left that job, to do her favorite and most rewarding job, she became a stay-at-home mom; the job she cherished and loved so much. Once the boys went off to school, she went to work as a secretary at Schalmont High School for 32 years until her retirement. Sandy’s favorite thing she loved and cherished more than anything was being with her family ,especially family vacations, holiday parties , backyard pool days and her favorite thing of all spoiling her grandchildren. Sandra was predeceased by her loving husband Richard “Rit” Lawrence 2015. She is survived by their children; sons Greg(Paula) Lawrence of Rotterdam, Darren (Nancy) Lawrence of Guilderland , three grandchildren Cody, Aiden and Aviana Lawrence and two step grandchildren Ashley and Lexi Loomis, three brothers James France Jr., Larry (Michelle) France and Mark France and one sister Rita France. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm on Friday November 10, 2017 at St Joseph’s Church Schenectady. Interment will follow at St Cyril’s Cemetery Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of one’s choice in Sandy’s honor.
