Salvatore Joseph Esperti, 86, died at his home on Monday, March 28, 2016 after a long illness surrounded by his family. Sal was born on May 30, 1929 in Troy, NY. He was the son of the late Pasquale and Josephine Esperti. A graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School, Sal worked at Randall Boat Co. and Scotia Marine until 1986. He then co-founded Mohawk Valley Marine in Alplaus. Sal was a diehard NY Giants and NY Yankees fan and was a longtime member of Scotia Senior Merchant Bowling League. Sal was predeceased by his wife of almost 60 years, Ann (Cribbs) Esperti whom he lost to ALS in 2014. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Neal, Nicholas, and Pasquale Jr. Sal is survived by his sons, Robert Esperti (Lisa), Thomas Esperti, Michael Esperti, Joseph Esperti, Richard Esperti (Sindy), his grandchildren, Pasquale, Jackie, Morgan,Taylor, Megan, Jacob, and Abigail, sisters-in-law, Helen Horwedel, Pauline Kowalczyk (Jerry), Rita LaBelle (Kenneth), Bernice Parillo, and Mary Jane Esperti, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 2 at 10:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 806 Union St., Schenectady. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church prior to the Mass, from 9 - 10:30. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
