Sally M Nagay

Rotterdam-Sally M. (Menegio) Nagay, 76, of Rotterdam, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, January 11, 2023 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, after a brief illness. She was born in Manhattan, NY on October 23, 1946, to the late Dominick and Carmella (Sirani) and she was predeceased by her infant sister, Patricia. Sally was a graduate of Chatham Central Schools. She was employed with Adirondack Trailways where she met her husband Edward D. Nagay. Sally and Ed were married in Schenectady in 1999. Sally retired from the food services department at Mohonasen High School, Rotterdam. She was an amazing cook and loved to feed her family. Sally is survived by her husband, Edward D. Nagay, son, Edward J. Williams of Valatie, her three stepchildren, Betsy A. Tope (Richard), David J. Nagay (Maria) of Perth and Lisa A. Nagay of Schenectady, grandchildren, Nicholas and Nicole Williams, Rachel C. Dente (Antonio) and two great grandsons, Nicholas and Ryan Dente. She is also survived by her siblings, Mario Menegio (Doris) of Hudson, Carmella Weaver (Frederick) of North Carolina and Richard Menegio of North Carolina. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, with a brief service to follow (12 pm) at the funeral home. Procession will follow to Gerald B. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville where she will be laid to rest at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Foundation.
