Rotterdam – Ruth Ann Clapper, 66, passed away on Monday, November 5th, 2018 at the St. Peter’s Hospice Inn. Ruth was born in Schenectady to the late Lawrence and Elaine (Hall) Gravell. She graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and worked for many years as a school bus driver, most recently for the Guilderland Central Schools, retiring in June of 2016. Ruth was a feisty and generous soul, always helping anyone in need. She loved the simple things in life, from enjoying her daily coffee outside to her yearly visits to Wildwood, NJ with her best friend, Tammy. She was an excellent cook, sharing her comfort food with her family and friends who will miss her greatly. Besides Ruth’s parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Russell Clapper in 1988. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Ashley Pritchard (Chris) and Oliver Chaires (Civanna), her grandchildren, Christopher Pritchard Jr. and Olivia Chaires-Quinones and her grandchildren to-be, Scarlett Ruth-Ann Chaires. She also leaves behind her 5 brothers, Thomas, Jesse, Paul, Bruce and Wayne Gravell as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, November 11th from 11am-1pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue in Rotterdam.
