Rotterdam – Rosemary Ditoro-Friello, 93, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, July 2nd, 2021 at Glendale Nursing Home. Born and educated in Schenectady, Rosemary was the daughter of the late James and Agnus Ditoro. She was a devoted housewife and stay-at-home mom. Rosemary was a member of St. Anthony’s Church and in her spare time she enjoyed volunteering at Sunnyview Hospital. Rosemary was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. Her family meant the world to her and thefamily felt that same love toward her. She enjoyed cooking and hosting family gatherings. Truly, there are no words that can describe the wonderful human being she was. She was an angel here on earth- Heaven gained an amazing woman. Rosemary is predeceased by her husband, Charles Friello, whom she married on August 30th, 1945 as well as her daughters, Jennifer Suriano and Lois Bennett; grandson, Thomas Polito; and siblings, Ralph Ditoro, Norman Ditoro and Doris Micalizzi. She is survived by her children, Charlene Polito, Charles Friello II and his wife Judy Friello, Michele Fisher and Kimberly Friello. She is the cherished grandmother of Lisa Suriano, Ronald Suriano, Ashley Rogers, Bryan Friello, Shelby Lindsey, Jeffrey Lindsey and Devin Shelmerdine; great grandmother of Jason DeJesus, Emmalynn Semerad, Joshua DeJesus and Thomas Lindsey. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, from 4-7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10am at St. Anthony’s Church, 331 Seward Pl., Schenectady with burial to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery on Brandywine Avenue.
