Rosemarie Tranelli

SCHENECTADY - Rosemarie Tranelli, 78, passed away on Sunday September 20, 2026 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Schenectady, she was born on June 25, 1948 to the late Peter and Concettina Scavullo. After graduating from Notre Dame High School, Rosemarie became a switchboard operator at Schenectady City Hall for 6 years. She then became a phone operator for Off Track Betting of the Capital District for 44 years, retiring in 2017. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Schenectady and the Mt. Carmel Women’s Society.

Rosemarie is survived by her sister, Marianne (the late Anthony) Cristello; her brother, Peter G. (Jeannine) Scavullo; and her nieces and nephews, Jamie Cristello, Alaina (Simone) Amos, Brian Scavullo, Deanna Scavullo, and Julian Amos.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday September 26th from 8am to 10am at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St., Schenectady, NY 12303, followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady.
