Schenectady- Rose M. (Rizzo) Stipano, age 93, died peacefully, following a short illness on Sunday December 15, 2013, at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center. She was predeceased by her husband, John Stipano;five brothers, Anthony, Frank, John,Mike, and Henry Rizzo;three sisters, Lena Pastiglione, Mary Costanzo and Irene Buzzo. For 40 years Rose worked in the Motor Department at the General Electric Company. She loved cooking, especially holiday meals and spending time with her large extended family. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church. Rose is survived by two sisters-in-law, Marion Rizzo and Martha Rizzo, as well as many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and grand nephews. Calling hours will be held Wednesday December 18, from 5 to 8pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin Thursday 8:45am at the funeral home, followed at 9:30 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Rd., Rotterdam. Burial will take place in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Rose's family wishes to thank Kingsway Manor Assisted Living and the staff and nurses at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center C Wing,for their kind and compassionate care of Rose.
