Rose Salluzzo

Rotterdam- Rose Salluzzo, 100, at rest Tuesday February 17, 2015. Rose was born in Gloversville on May 9, 1914, the daughter of the late Vincenzoand Vincenza Ragusa. Rose and family moved to Schenectady in 1956, where for a time she was employed with the Carl Company.She was a homemaker for the last 50 years. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Gabriel's Church. An extremely religious woman, Rose enjoyed quiet contemplation, prayer and reciting The Rosary, sometimes numerous times daily.Rose was remarkably fit, even at 100 she continued to participate in the exercise program at Ingersoll Place Assisted Living, where she resided since July of 2012. Rose was the beloved wife of the late Gaetano "Guy" Salluzzo (1973); beloved mother of Frank (Carol) Salluzzo of Guilderland and Delray Beach, FL., Vincent Salluzzo of Amsterdam and Rose Famiano of Rotterdam; Loving grandmother of11 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren; Rose is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by five siblings. A calling period will be held Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9:30to 11am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Those in attendance may follow in procession to an 11:30 Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel's Church, 3040 Hamburg St. ,Rotterdam. Rose will be buried in the spring in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown, N.Y.
