Rose M (Scalzo) Mineconzo

Rose M. Mineconzo, 91, of Schenectady passed away at home with her sister Cora and daughter Patty by her side. Rose was born in Herkimer, NY, the daughter of the late Antonio and Angelina Fazio Scalzo. She was employed for several years at General Electric and also was a private caregiver, but was a homemaker for most of her life, raising her family. Rose loved to go to the casino, go walking the mall, shopping and eating out with family and friends. In addition to her parents, Rose is also predeceased by her brother, Rinaldo “Lee” Scalzo and her former husband, Louis M. Mineconzo. She is survived by her son; Michael A. (Jean) Mineconzo, her daughter and caregiver; Patricia Hyson, her sister and caregiver; Cora Leja, two grandchildren; Christopher and Kevin Mineconzo as well as several very special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 10 am - 1 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin at 1 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Rose’s family would like to thank the Hospice Care Team; Dr. Pezzulo, Peggy, Ruth, Cassie and Emily for all the care, smiles and joy they brought to her. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice in Rose’s name.
