Rose Mary Gentile

Rose "Dolly" Gentile- Dolly passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on January 16, 1926, in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Antoinette Farina.Dolly lived in Schenectady for her whole life, where she married, raised a son, and cared for her grandchildren.Dolly was one of the most generous people you would ever meet, and she got great joy from helping others. She spent 20 years working as a receptionist at Flah's in Albany, NY.She was an avid reader who enjoyed vacationing and entertaining.Her kitchen table was a frequent gathering spot for family and friends.Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. Dolly is survived by her husband of 66 years, Frank Gentile; her son, Richard Gentile (Cathy); four grandchildren: Tara Ferri, Crystal Knapp (John); Beth Corvene, and Paul Gentile; a great-granddaughter, Katarina Knapp: three sisters: Carmela Gaudio, Dolores Varcadipane, and Lela Bradt; and many nieces and nephews.She is predeceased by a sister, Mary Berger, and a brother, Anthony "Junie" Farina. The Gentile family would like to thank Baptist Health for their exceptional care of Dolly during her stay, especially the nurses and aides of S3.
