Rotterdam – Rosalie Conti, 95, passed away Saturday November 25, 2017 at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Born in Amsterdam she was the daughter of Nicolo and Rachele Emanuele. Rosalie worked at the General Electric Co. for 28 years in the Real estate and construction division retiring in the 1970’s. She was a communicant of St. Gabriel’s Church and a member of the Church women’s club. She was a life member of the DAV #88 auxiliary and past New York State Commander. An avid card player, she looked forward to her weekly card club. Rosalie loved to travel and being at her winter condo in Lake Worth, Florida. She also enjoyed 40 years of camping at Sacandaga Lake and spending time with her family. Her husband, Anthony, passed away in 1991. She is survived by her three children; Anthony (Maryjane) Conti, Madaline Hackett and Patricia (Keith) Carpenter. Her five grandchildren; Tracy (Adam) Wendt, Greg (Lela) Carpenter, Jeff (Tara) Hackett, Michele (Bob) Garrow and Neal (Laura Lynn) Conti. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren. Her sister; Mary DeSorbo and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents and husband, Rosalie was predeceased by her son-in-law, Daniel Hackett and her grandson, Trevor Conti. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5-7 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin 9:15 am Thursday at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel’s Church 3040 Hamburg St., Rotterdam. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s cemetery, Glenville. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Gabriel’s Church memorial fund or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
