Ronald K Messersmith

Guilderland- Ronald Messersmith, 74, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Lois Coppage Messersmith. He was happily married to Nancy Gray Messersmith for 52 years. Ronald was a faithful parishioner of Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church. He sang in the church choir and was a member of the Barbershop Quartet for 35 years. He enjoyed, fishing, golfing, going on road trips, and spending time with his family. He was a reader for the WMHT Rise Program, aided in Meals on Wheels, and was a retired clinical psychologist in the state of New York. Before his retirement he worked with the New York State Office of People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, his children; Karen Messersmith, Daniel (Hope) Messersmith, and Amy Messersmith, his grandchildren, Julia and Michael French, his brothers; Robert (Christine), Richard (Elizabeth), Roger, and Randy (Denise) Messersmith, several loving nieces,nephews, and many close friends. He now joins his parents Robert and Lois, sister-in-law Kathy Messersmith and nephew Ryan Messersmith in Heaven. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 11 at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Turnpike, Guilderland, NY 12084 from 4pm-7pm. A memorial service will be held privately by the family.
