Rotterdam – Roger Dale Rugg Sr., 71, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, May 18th, 2021. Born in Penn Yan, NY, Roger was the son of the late Gerald Rugg and Beatrice Knapp Rugg. Roger spent most of his life in the Finger Lakes, moving to Rotterdam in 2007 to be close to family. Some of Roger’s favorite things included hunting and fishing, watching western movies and he was a huge WWE wrestling fan. Roger will be remembered for his deep love of his family, his jokes and sense of humor, and the way he would do anything to help his loved ones and friends. He was a pillar of strength for his family and greatly loved by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed beyond words. Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Vivian Cartwright; beloved children,Roger Rugg Jr., Gidget Rugg, Beatrice Rugg (Thomas Kibbe) and Jennie Kibbe (Jacob); adored grandchildren, Alyssa Rugg, Feliciana Morine, Sierra Nudd, Angela Fowler, Damon Rugg, Alana Rugg, Leland Kibbe, Kiara Rugg and Keilani Kibbe; and great grandchildren, MyiahRae, Halia, Ryse, Paisley, Apollo, Avianna, Emma Rose, Grayson and Ares. He also leaves behind his sister, Juanita Hagadone (George) and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Roger was predeceased by his siblings, Wesley Rugg Sr., Norman Rugg Sr., Marcia Freeland, Daniel Rugg, Terry Rugg and Linda Reyes.
