Rotterdam – Robert E. Knowles Jr., 58, passed away on Tuesday, November 1st, 2022 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Born in Schenectady, Robert was the son of the late Robert E. Knowles Sr. and Marilyn (Rose) Knowles. He graduated from Schalmont High School and went on to honorably serve our country in the United States Marine Corps. After his military service, Robert worked as Facilities Operations Manager for various companies both locally and internationally. Robert married his devoted wife, Pamela A. Brady Knowles on November 23rd, 1999 and together they raised their 2 daughters, Taylor and Jordan. Robert was very involved in his girls’ high school sports.He was always their biggest fan. He was a diehard NY Jets fan and loved golf and horse racing at the Saratoga Race Course. More recently, Robert spent most of his time mowing his lawn and driving his tractor around the neighborhood to spend time with his cherished friends. Robert leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Pamela A. Knowles; his beloved daughters, Taylor Knowles and Jordan Knowles as well as his brother, Larry (Jennifer) Knowles and sister, Tina (Jeff) Tucker, and cherished nieces, nephews and in-laws. He also leaves behind his dog, Maddie. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his grandmother, Marjorie Knowles and several aunts he was especially close to. Calling hours will be heldon Monday, November 7thfrom 10am-11:30amat the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home,1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. A memorial service will beginat 11:30am, followed by a procession to Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery where Robert will be laid to rest with military honorsat 2 pm.
