Robert J. “Bob” Guido, 76, of Niskayuna, passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital on Thursday, October 13, 2016, with his family at his bedside. Robert was born in Bronx, NY, the son of the late Emilio and Lillian Cuicio Guido. He moved to Schenectady when he was 16 years old. Robert worked as a Claims Adjuster for the Hartford Insurance Co. for 20 years and later was employed as a Maintenance Engineer at Ellis Hospital for 20 years before he retired. Robert was an AVID Yankee fan for many years. He was a past president with the Bellevue Little league and managed the Dingman’s Auto team. Robert enjoyed traveling and especially taking cruises. He was a devoted grandfather and attended every activity his grandchildren were involved in. In addition to his parents, Robert was also predeceased by his son in law, Charles “Chucky” Boiani. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Sharon Kaminski Guido, three children; Lisa (Bruce) Flood of Rotterdam, Leslie Boiani of Rotterdam and Tami (Kyle) Kapusinsky of Altamont, his brother; Michael (Beverly) Guido of Rotterdam and sister Diane Paturso of Schenectady, nine grandchildren; Craig, Lindsey, Brian, Megan, DeAnna, Ryan, Collin, Justin and Ashley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4-6 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin on Monday, 9 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Glenville. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Ellis Hospital who were so kind to Bob.
