Guilderland - Robert (Bobby) Jon Gray (age 28) passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Bobby was born February 14, 1994, in Lambare, Paraguay. He was adopted and brought home in September 1994, baptized at Christ the King Church in Guilderland, and became a US citizen in 1995 at a special ceremony at the Veterans’ Administration in Albany. He was the cherished son of Carol Bianco Miller, the late Jon Gray, and Daniel Miller. He is also survived by his beloved siblingsLainie Gray, Dana Miller, and Robby Miller. Bobby attended the Langan School in Albany where he earned a NYS IEP diploma. Bobby lived most of his life with his family in Guilderland, New York. However, for the past 11 years he has lived with his second family at the Consaul Road Residence (Center for Disability Services) in Niskayuna, NY. There he was blessed with many friends and caregivers who enriched his life every day with their love and attention. In 2012 he was honored to be selected and featured for the Center for Disability Services Annual Telethon. Bobby embodied perseverance in reaching many milestones in his short life that many of us take for granted. Despite many challenges, his determination, sense of humor, and flashing dark Spanish eyes carried him through the day. Although he never spoke a word, his personality and charm were irresistible, and he made friends everywhere. To know Bobby was to love him; his smile and laugh were contagious. He loved helping around the kitchen, grocery shopping, car rides, being with his family and friends, teasing his dogs Roxy and Dusty, good food, puzzles, balloons, shooting hoops, blowing bubbles, and collecting matchbox cars. Bobby demonstrated to everyone that physical and intellectual challenges do not preclude a life of love and achievement. In addition to his parents and siblings, Bobby is survived by his maternal grandfather, Donald Bianco of Florida, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and dear friends throughout the country. His memory will be eternal. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bobby’s memory can be made to the Center for Disability Services Foundation, 314 S. manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208.
