Robert W. Goodell

Robert William Goodell, age 70, of Glenville, NY, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026. Born on April 5, 1956, in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of the late Stanley and Joan Goodell.

Robert dedicated his professional life to his craft as a talented welder, bringing his expertise to Condec, BEECH Systems, Super Steel, and Package One over the course of his career. A man of exceptional talent and practical wisdom, he was a master craftsman who possessed the rare ability to build, create, or repair anything he set his mind to. His precision and dedication were evident in every project he undertook, driven by the meticulous standards of a true perfectionist. Outside of his workshop, he found his greatest peace and fulfillment in nature. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending countless hours in the woods and on the water, appreciating the quiet beauty of the outdoors.

Above all his achievements, his family was his greatest pride. He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Denise; his children, Jonathan (Jacqualyne) and Jason (Kaitlyn); his beloved grandchildren, Angelo (19), Luciana (15), Lorenzo (12), and Remington (7); and his sister, Sandra (Roy) Fowler; and several nephews and a niece. He also leaves behind a legacy of integrity, hard work, and a deep respect for nature that will live on through his family.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, August 6, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam, NY.

A Funeral Service and Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, August 7, at 9:00 AM, at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 1235 State Street, Schenectady, NY.

A Graveside Service will immediately follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, 27 Glenridge Road, Glenville, NY.
