Schenectady- Robert “Bob” C. Foster, 91, passed away peacefully at Kingsway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on November 1, 2016. He was born in East Orange NJ, on November 4 , 1924, a son of the late James and Elizabeth Sheper Foster. He was a lifelong area resident of Schenectady. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy and received a Bachelors from Siena College in 1951. Bob served proudly in the United States Marines during WWII and lived by the motto Semper Fidelis. Bob married his beloved wife Joan French on September 11, 1954. For many years Bob was employed as a Printing Salesman for Qualicraft of Schenectady retiring in his late 60s. He was an avid golfer and was a member of local bowling and golf leagues. Bob was a founding parishioner of St Gabriel’s Church and served as an usher for many years. He is survived by his wife Joan, his children Mary Beth (Michael) Pfeiffer South Windsor Ct, William (Susan) Foster of Durham NC, Judy (Dennis) Mills of South Glastonbury Ct and Joanne Foster of Rotterdam. Bob leaves behind his grandchildren Gretchen (Kirk) Kruger, Meggan (Steve) Retzlaff, Matthew (Courtney) Mills, Meggan (Tyson) Thomas, Kelly Mills and Gregory Pfeiffer. And three great grandchildren Sophia Kruger, Jackson Retzlaff and Fiona Thomas. Family and friends are invited to call at St Gabriel’s Church on Friday November 4, 2016 from 9 am to 11:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am at the church. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery with Military Honors.
