Schenectady- Robert S."Bob" Chylinski, 88, passed into the arms of Our Lord on Monday November 5, 2012, after a long illness. Bob was born in Worcester, MA., the son of the late Adam and Stasia Chylinski. He was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. He was employed in General Electric's Large Turbine Division, retiring as a Foreman with 45 years of service. Bob was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club and the Young Men's Polish Association. He was especially active with the Pinehaven Country Club; as a charter member, member of the Board of Directors and course 'starter'. Bob won the first Member ' Guest Tournament at Pinehaven. He was an excellent golfer with five career hole in one's to his credit. An excellent bowler, Bob bowled with various area leagues. He was an avid Giants fan and will also be remembered even during his ill health for being quick with a funny quip. His family fondly remembers him tending bar at family holiday functions. Bob was the beloved husband of 60 years to Amelia 'Milly' (Fiore) Chylinski; beloved brother of Stephanie Rupinski, Eleanor Kwiatkowski and the late Adele (Ed) Podgorski, Edmund Chylinski, Genevieve Janack and Vitold Chylinski. Bob is also survived by over ninety nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great- great nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Friday November 9 from 6 to 8pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin Saturday 8:45am at the funeral home, followed at 9:30am by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Schenectady.
