Robert R Chest Sr

Rotterdam- Robert '˜Bob" R. Chest Sr, 66, passed away at home on July 9 2014 after a long illness. He was born in Amsterdam NY a son of the late William and Marion Chest. Bob was raised and educated in Canajoharie NY.For 32 years he was employed as a carpenter for GE of Schenectady. He served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1975. Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a race car driver at the Fonda Speedway (No. 54). He is survived by his son and daughter in law Robert Jr. and Lynn of Rotterdam his grandchildren Samantha (Jake) Chest and John Chest of Rotterdam. His brothers Richard "Dickie" Chest of Palatine Bridge NY and John (Edna) Chest of Schenectady.Nephews Wesley (Tina) Chest , Richard Chest, Bill (Carmen) Suits , his nieces Tonya (Todd) Koenig , Kim Whitman and Great Nephew Ethan Chest. His Aunts Theresa Snyder and Gladys Guy and several cousins.Bob was predeceased by his brother William. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Sunday July 13 2014 from 3 pm to 7 pm. Interment with full military honors will be held on Monday July 14, 2014 at 12 noon at the Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville NY Memorial donations may be made to the Local SPCA.
