Richard L. Sanborn, 83, of Rotterdam, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Tunbridge, VT, Richard was the son of the late Clifford Sanborn and late Marion (Mitchell) Sanborn. Richard honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for many years as an auto mechanic at Armory Garage, later working the automotive desk at Walmart in Rotterdam. A member of the Schenectady Moose Lodge and the local CB Club, Richard loved sports. He also enjoyed fishing and his yearly camping trips to Richmondville. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Eileen Sanborn and his sons, Ricky Sanborn, Jr. and David Sanborn. Richard leaves behind his fiancé, Angeline Rowe, his daughter, Deborah Carusone, siblings, Marion Haight (Robert), Clifford Sanborn (Vera) and Joyce Kernaghan (Bob), his special friend, Carol Shultes, and his grandchildren, Tara, Nicole, Sandra and Alexander III, as well as 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday, June 10 at 12pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Calling hours will be from 10am-12pm, prior to the service. Relatives and friends are welcome. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
