Albany - Richard G. May, 61, of Albany, died Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Albany Medical Center Hospital following a short illness. Richard was born in Schenectady and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from St. Madeleine Sophie Elementary School, Guilderland High School and received an Associate Degree from SUNY Cobleskill. Richard was employed for 39 years at the Center of Disability Services in Albany where he was serving as theDay Program Administrator at the time of his illness. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Albany and also attended St. Madeleine Sophie Church in Guilderland. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Richard E. and Rita P. Homan May. He is survived by two brothers; William (Erin) May of Dudley, MA. and John (Darrin) Ellis-May of Milton, GA., four sisters; Jeanette May of Guilderland, Suzanne (Bill) Osborn of Barnstable, MA., Lorraine (David) Friedman of Prescott, AZ . and Denise (Ashwin) May-Shukla of Sarasota, Fla. six nieces and nephews as well one great niece and nephew and several cousins. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6 – 8 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Tpk. (Rt. 20) in Guilderland. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, 10:30 am at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd. in Guilderland. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Ulster, PA.
