Rotterdam – Richard S. Eats, 83, passed away at his home on Monday, March 20th, 2017. Born in Schenectady, Richard was the son of the late James and Mary (Wnuk) Eats. Richard honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. A member of the GE Quarter Century Club, Richard worked in the shipping department for 28 years until his retirement in 1990. Richard was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting. He was a great man and will be dearly missed. Richard is predeceased by his brother, Philip Eats. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Shirley A. (Brady) Eats, his dear cat, Daisy as well as his 2 sisters, Dolores Kwolek and Evelyn Muller and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11am on Thursday, March 23rd at Evergreen Memorial Park, 2150 Central Ave. in Colonie.
