Richard “Rick” Darling, 61, of Rynex Corners Road, Pattersonville, passed into eternal life on August 24, 2016. Rick was born November 24, 1954 in Schenectady, the son of the late William E. Darling, and Dorothy McMahon Darling. He graduated Linton High School and Crane School of Music at Potsdam, NY. Rick was the owner of Easy Method Driving School, Inc., a family business founded by his father William E. Darling. His sense of humor and knowledge of traffic safety made him a sought after instructor in the Capital District area for four decades. He was a skilled trombonist, taught private music lessons, played in several bands, and the Signature Brass Quintet, and was very involved in Christian music ministry. Rick hosted a radio show “In The Driver’s Seat” of WDCD, and was a guest on local news media for traffic safety. Survivors include his devoted wife of 41 years, Joanne Ferraioli Darling; seven children, Angela Wezowicz (Rick) of Castleton, Peter of Waterford, Jennifer Finazzo (Patrick) of Rotterdam, Steven of Pattersonville, Daniel (Rebecca) of Glenville, Katie of Omaha, NE and Richard, Jr. of Pattersonville, his mother, Dorothy of Pattersonville, a sister Dorothy of Flatwoods, KY, twelve grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara and Elizabeth. A 12:30pm service of Christian Celebration will be held on Saturday, August 27th and will bepreceded by calling hours from 11:00am-12:30pm at Sonrise Bible Church, Dunnsville Road, Rotterdam. Private burial will follow. No flowers, please.
