Richard E Dalpe Sr

November 28, 1942 — July 21, 2015

Rotterdam - Richard E. Dalpe Sr, 72, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, July 21. Rich, as he was known to all, was born on November 28, 1942, in Cohoes, NY, to Hector Dalpe and Julia Olszouy. He married Carol Matarazzo on July 7, 1976. Rich served as a Marine Sergeant from 1963 - 1968, having served two tours in Viet Nam. He worked at Watervliet Arsenal where he worked for many years. He enjoyed spending quiet times at home. Rich is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Carol; his children and step-children, Richard Dalpe Jr. of Schenectady; Sherry (Ed) Harasiemowicz of Rotterdam; Debra (Mark)Kruszona of Glenville; John Matarazzo of Arkansas; Anthony Matarazzo of Schenectady;and Joe (Robin) Matarazzo of Rotterdam. Grandchildren, Brianna McKeon, Eddie Harasiemowicz and Mariah Matarazzo all of Rotterdam. He is also survived by his beloved cats, Lucky, Tackle and Missy. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at The Albany Stratton V.A. 9th floor Hero's Way, for their compassion and care of Rich in his time of need. Calling hours will be held Sunday July 26 from 2-4 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A prayer service will immediately follow at 4 p.m. Burial, with military honors, will be at Saratoga National Cemetery.
