Guilderland - Richard W. O. Beebe, 58, passed away on June 5, 2016. Rich, son of Richard W. Beebe Sr., and grandson of Macel and Frances Beebe, was born June 25, 1957, in Binghamton. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Laura Oakley Beebe, and twin daughters, Amanda Beebe McLean (Mark McLean) and Heather Frances Beebe. Rich earned a B.S in Criminal Justice from RIT in 1978 and a B.S. in Nursing from Russell Sage College in 1983, later earning an M.S. in Education from SUNY Albany in 1996. He then worked as a nurse at St. Peter's Hospital for 10 years before becoming a Paramedic Educator at HVCC. His continuing journey then took him to Bassett Hospital and SUNY Cobleskill where he served as both director and educator for the program. Rich eventually became the Associate Director of Education for Mohawk Ambulance Service, and also served as vice president of the National Association of EMS Educators and on the Board of Directors for the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for EMS. Most recently, Rich started his own company, MedicThink, to reach a national audience.All the while, Rich was a volunteer for the Western Turnpike Rescue Squad and an active paramedic for the Town of Guilderland for almost 30 years. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, June 11, at 1 p.m. at Guilderland Central High School, 8 School Rd, Guilderland Center, NY 12085, with a reception to follow at Station One of the Western Turnpike Rescue Squad, 200 Centre Drive, Albany, NY 12203.
