Raymond Norman Solloway, aged 80, of Princetown, New York, passed away unexpectedly at home, on Monday, June 22nd, 2026. A beloved husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend, Raymond was born on October 16th, 1945, in Oneonta, NY to the late William Gilbert and Elizabeth Louise (Kraut) Solloway.
After graduating from Oneonta High School with the Class of 1963, Raymond attended SUNY Morrisville, where he earned his associates degree. He was then drafted into the U.S. Army and served from 1966 to 1968. Upon his honorable discharge home, Raymond worked as a skilled mechanic, maintaining everything from small engines to automobiles and heavy machinery, retiring in 2014.
Outside of work, Raymond would spend time hunting, racing cars, and doing projects around the house. Raymond’s greatest devotion in life above all else was to his loving family.
Raymond is survived by his beloved wife, Christy Elizabeth Solloway; his siblings, Fredric Solloway of Maryland, New York, Gilbert (Wanita) Solloway of Cooperstown, New York, and Russell (Shelly) Solloway of Sherburne, New York; his children, AJ Myers (Shawn Holt) of Springtown, Texas, Steven (Kristina) Solloway of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Daniel (Diane) Solloway of Marlborough, Connecticut; his stepson, Dane Benson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; his grandchildren, Mandalynn, Marina, Ian, Sophie, Nathan, Nathalie, and Zachary; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Raymond is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Miriam Solloway and his niece, Wendy Solloway.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, June 29th, from 5-7 PM, at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam, NY.
