Rotterdam – Randy T. Schauman, 60, passed away after a short but valiant battle with cancer at his home on Saturday, November 10th, 2018. Randy was born in Rochester, to his parents Elizabeth (Riffe) Schauman and the late Walter Schauman II. A graduate of Spencerport High School, Randy later served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for over 20 years in Rochester at Eastman Kodak. He then worked for 6 years as a winder at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady and was a member of Local 301. Randy was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He loved classic rock and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. In Randy’s spare time you could find him cooking on his smoker, lovingly mowing his grass or watching western movies. Randy loved Wagon Train BBQ, his country and was a big supporter of Donald Trump. Randy leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 38 years, Helen (Chichester) Schauman, his daughters, Michelle Schauman (Kevin) and Jennifer Schauman, his beloved grandchildren, Aleah Schauman, Madeline Phelps, Jaiden Phelps, Kevin Sands and Ciara Sands as well as his adored K-9 companion, Lexie. He also leaves behind his mother, Elizabeth Schauman, siblings, Cathy Bartlett (Mark), Walter Schauman III (Kim) and David Schauman and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his father, Randy was predeceased by his grandparents, Walter Sr. and Verna Schauman and Henry and Elizabeth Riffe, mother-in-law, Myrtle Askew and nephew, Jordan Lawler. Calling hours will take place on Thursday morning from 10am-12pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam and will be followed at 1pm by a funeral mass at St. Luke’s Church, State St., Schenectady.
