Ralph F Landolfo

d. December 6, 2014

Ralph F. Landolfo Jr, of Scotia NY and Sun City Center Florida, passed away on Saturday December 6, 2014 at the Baptist Health Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 1, 1942 in Albany NY and was the son of the late Ralph F.and Grace Digert Landolfo Sr.Ralph is survived by his wife M. Paula (Messina) Landolfo , daughter Sheri Myers of Duanesburg, daughter Robin (Perry) Milliman of Umatilla Fl, son Anthony (Carol) Landolfo of Pattersonville, daughter Betsy (Daniel) DelGiacco of Stillwater, son John (Julie) Landolfo of Denton TX nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. After attending Linton High School and serving in the United States Army Ralph worked for General Electric. His love of cars guided him towards opening his own service stations and later becoming a Service Manager for both Schenectady Plymouth and Terry- Chrysler Plymouth. Ralph was a noble man with a warm smile, great sense of humor, strong love of family, a caring nature and above all he was a man who had a profound love of his country. He was aSgt -at -Armsof the American Legion Post 1092 in Niskayuna and truly enjoyed the special camaraderie that he and his fellow Vets shared. He was also a member for many years of a club known as the At-Oles. It is a club where men of all walks of lifeget together to share their tales of family, work, life and have fun! Whether golfing in another member's backyard at annual picnics or a real golf course, doing charitable works or just hanging out, he and his club buddies were always there for one another. Ralph enjoyed so many things from hunting and fishing with his son Tony, furniture making, collecting steins, doing stained glass, family picnics, cooking, volunteering for events for others less fortunate and in recent years digging in gem mines with Paula up and down the East Coast to simple quiet times of backyard conversations with neighbors. Another thing he enjoyed were his daily walks in Collins Park in Scotia where he walked their Wheaton named Cinnamon. He quickly became friends with the park staff and other dog lovers. A tree will be planted in his memory in the park this coming spring. Thirty three years of marriage is summed up in the form of a picture hanging in their home with caricatures of each and a saying that reads... and they lived a slightly bizarre version of being married happily ever after... They did and it was so wonderful! Ralph may not have realized his dream of moving to their new home in Florida , but Paula knows his spiritis waiting therenow and he will continue to care for her as he did so in life. Family and friends are invited to call at DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Sunday December 14 2014 from 12:30pm to 2:30 pm. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at 10:30am at Saratoga National Cemetery on Monday December 15 2014 . The family cannot express their thanks to the staff at Baptist Health for the excellent care and comfort they gave to him and to the family as well. In such a short time they got to know the man we all knew who loved to make those around him smile with his jokes and they became part of his family too.
