Rotterdam- Raffaele Califano, 61, entered into the Arms of Our Lord on Sunday, July 7, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Born raised and educated in Caiazzo, Italy, Raffaele and his family came to this country in 1972.He was employed as a machine operator with the General Electric Co. for manyyears. For enjoyment Raffaele enjoyed playing cards with his friends, going to Racino and his memberships with the Rotterdam Soccer Club and the Napoli Soccer Club. He was the beloved son of Germano Califano of Rotterdam and the late Vincenza (Coppola) Califano; beloved companion of Dorothy Joslin; beloved brother of Mrs. Angela (Ivan)Posilovic, Paolo (Anna) Califano and the late Raffaelina Califano; beloved uncle of,Paul (Nicole) Califano, Danielle and Nicole Califano, Cristina and Michael Posilovic; Raffaele is also survived by companion Dorothy's family, Jennifer (Edward) Munger, John (Dorothy) Joslin, George(Pamela)Joslin and an aunt,uncle and numerous cousins. Calling hours will be held Thursday July 11, from5 to 7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin Friday 8 am at the funeral home, followed at 9 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Anthony, Nott St. at Seward Place, Schenectady.
