Raffaela (Stocco) Lento

Raffaela Lento, 97 of Rotterdam passed away peacefully on Friday, December 28, 2012. Raffaela was born in Pianopoli, Italy, the daughter of Gregorio and Maria Casale Stocco and came to the United States in 1937. Raffaela was predeceased by her husband Agostino "Gus" Lento and her son Anthony Lento in 1994. She is the beloved mother of Carmelo (Isabella ) Lento of Rotterdam and Joseph Lento of Cicero; loving mother in law of Eleanor Lento of Loudonville; sister of Joe Filippa of Rotterdam; loving grandmother of Julie (John) Yonos, Gus (Val) Lento, Gregory Lento and Gia (Shawn) Lemerise; great grandmother of Ashlee (Kyle) Girard, John R. and AdryannaYonos, Sophia and Madelyn Lemerise and great- great grandmother of Stella Marie Girard. Raffaela is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday morning from 9-11 am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. followed at 11:30 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel's Church. Entombment will be at Schenectady Memorial Park Masoleum. The family would prefer memorial contributions in Raffaela's memory be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St. Schenectady, NY, 12308 or to the Tyler DeMarco Foundation, PO Box 4807, Schenectady, NY, 12304-0807. Raffaela's family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of C-2 at Glendale Nursing Home for the patience, compassion and love they have shown to "Mama".
