Raffaela "Rae" (Dipietro) Bunt

Schenectady - Raffaela“Rae” (DiPietro) Bunt, age 93, peacefully passed away on February 22, 2022. Rae was born and raised in Schenectady, NY where she lived her entire life as a devoted wife and mother. She graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1947. It was there that she developed a love for music and played the viola in the Schenectady Symphony. She worked as an administrative assistant at General Electric where she met her husband, Harold. Rae was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. She found the most joy spending weekends at the Catskill Mountains with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her hobbies included crafting, cooking and gardening. She enjoyed watching her beloved New York Yankees and listening to her favorite Italian singers, Mario Lanza and Frank Sinatra. She was the beloved wife for 57 years of the late Harold R. Bunt; mother of James M. Bunt and his wife Sarah of Canton, MA, Dennis H. Bunt and his wife Nancy of Charlotte, NC, Marianne German and her husband Jeff of Bradenton, FL., and the late Timothy Bunt. Daughter of the late Lucia and Giuseppe DiPietro. Rae is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Adams (John), Greg Bunt (April), Melissa McGowan (Mike), Nicole Morgan (Sam), Kathryn Kozhimala (Augastin), Caitlin Catalano (Gianni), Matthew and Danny German, and eight great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is the sister of Joseph DiPietro of Schenectady, and the late Mary Gabriele. A visitation will take place on Saturday, March 5th, from 9:15-10:15am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home,1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church,1255 Pleasant St., Schenectady, NY 12303. Rae will be laid to rest in the springtime at St. Francis DeSales Cemetery in Elka Park, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rae’s name may be made to Mt. Carmel Church at the address above or to the Alzheimer’s Association,4 Pine West Plz., Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.
