Pierina Paniccia

Pierina Paniccia, 87, of Rotterdam, passed away at Ellis Hospital surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, December 14, 2024.  Born in Fontechiari, Frosinone, Italy.  Pierina was the daughter of the late Giuseppe Gizzi and Maria DiCarlo Gizzi.

Pierina and her husband Antonio came to the United States in 1956.  She enjoyed cooking, baking & gardening.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and a wonderful grandmother.  Pierina was happiest when spending time with her family.  She always had a smile making people feel cared for and loved.

In addition to her parents Pierina was predeceased by her loving husband Antonio in 2017.  She was also predeceased by her brother Antonio Gizzi, her son in law Antonio Muscedere, late brother in law and sister in law; Armando and Laura Paniccia and brothers in law; Giuseppe Santucci and Robert Meccariello.

Pierina is survived by her three cherished daughters Giuseppina Muscedere of Vicalvi, Italy, Rita Paniccia of Rotterdam and Tina Paniccia of Rotterdam, her beloved grandson; Felice Muscedere of Vicalvi, Italy, her sister; Gaetana Meccariello of Rotterdam, sister in law; Maria Santucci of Mayfield, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 6-8 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam.

Funeral services will begin at the funeral home 9:15 am Saturday morning followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church.

Burial will be in the Cemetery of Vicalvi, Frosinone, Italy.
