Phyllis (Barton) Brandenburg

Glenville - Phyllis Barton-Brandenburg entered into eternal peace on January 12th, 2018. She was born July 10th, 1922 to Floyd and Minnie Barton of Delanson. In her twenties, she met and married the love of her life, Robert Brandenburg, with whom she enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Together they built a home and family in Duanesburg and Sacandaga Lake. Phyllis was a career Executive Secretary working at both General Electric and WRGB. She retired from Jardine Insurance Brokers as the Confidential Secretary to the President. In retirement she travelled extensively. Phyllis is predeceased by her three older sisters; Marguerite Monthie (Charles), Carletta Reid (Bernie) and Betty McDougall (Hugh). She is survived by her husband, Robert Brandenburg and her daughter, Betty Lee (Betts) Montenaro and her beloved son-in-law, Al Montenaro and several nieces and nephews. Her life will be honored at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home on Helderberg Ave. in Rotterdam on Thursday, January 18th, at 4pm. A visitation will be held prior from 2-4pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
