Rotterdam - Philomena L. Musella, “Aunt Fanny”, passed away January 26, 2017 at Ellis Hospital with her daughter and friends by her side. She was born March, 23, 1924, in Fonda, NY, the daughter of Francesco and Genevieve (Aldi) Compani. Philomena was the wife of Vincent H. Musella for 65 years, until his death in 2012. She was the youngest of 13 children and was preceded in death by siblings Rose Davis, Ralph Compani, Carmen Compani, Anthony Compani, Stella DiBlasi, Tresa Vollero, John Compani, Julia Bell, and Frank Compani. She is survived by her three children, Christine (Dennis) Peruzzini of East Aurora, NY; Vincent G. Musella of Hudson Falls, NY; and Michael (Susan) Musella of Alexandria, VA; two grandchildren, Alissa (Vincent) Gaiani and Nicholas (Sylvia Alford) Peruzzini; one great-grandson, Nicholas “Nico” Gaiani, brother in law; Donald DeMidio of Rotterdam and her many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Philomena was a graduate of Fonda High School and the Royal Academy of Beauty Culture, in Schenectady. She especially enjoyed her varied jobs as a sales associate with the Rotterdam Big “N” and as a tax clerk for Bank of America. One of her greatest pleasures, besides her great grandson, Nico, was talking under the Gazebo with her many friends at the Edison Apartments in Rotterdam. Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 31, 2017, from 9 – 11 am at DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Schenectady, NY.
