Philomena V. DeSantis, 86, of Schenectady, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 6, 2014. Born in Norwood, NY, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Rena Recore DiTullio. Philomena worked for several years at the Gloversville Sewing Factory making bomber jackets during WWII.On August 14, 1948 she married George F. DeSantis and became a homemaker. She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and it's Rosary Society. She also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Ups and Downs Bowling league. In addition to her parents, Philomena was also predeceased by her beloved husband, George F. DeSantis, who died in 2003, her son Thomas George DeSantis, who died in 1998, her brother James DiTullio and her sister, Pauline DiCaprio. She is survived by her five children, Evelyn Salamone of Schenectady, Eileen Corrigan of Berne, Anna DeSantis -Rowe of Florida, James DeSantis of Schenectady and Martin DeSantis of Scotia, one brother Eugene DiTullio of Massena, NY, her sister, Ann Badger of California, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, 4-6 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin on Monday, 8:45 am from the funeral home followed at 9:30am by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Burial will follow the Mass at St. John's Cemetery.
