Rotterdam – Phillip J. Semerad, 27, died suddenly at home on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Phillip was born on November 13, 1989 in Schenectady, the son of Stephen and Rosie Semerad. Phil graduated from Mohonasen Senior High School in 2008. He attended Hudson Valley Community College for Mortuary Science until he elected to pursue his LPN certification through the Capital District BOCES in Colonie. In his life, Phil pursued many passions, but he was most passionate about caring for and entertaining his many close friends (and best friend Karli). Along with his parents, Phillip is survived by his beloved brothers, Ryan (Alexi) Semerad and Christopher A. Semerad, and his many loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 3-5 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A funeral service will immediately follow at 5 pm. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, may be made in Phillip’s memory to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY, or to the City Mission of Schenectady.
