Philip "Don" Bergeron

SCHENECTADY - Philip “Don” Bergeron, 84 passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024.

Born in Schenectady Don was the son of Philip and Margaret (Pilling) Bergeron he graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and was a Schenectady resident all his life.

He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and was known as “Mr. Coffee” there. Don worked several jobs throughout his life, including as an usher at State Theatre, working at the Mill End Shop, Grabart’s Jewelry Store, Mayfair Decorator’s as an installer of draperies and at the College Store at Schenectady Community College as a receiving and stock clerk.

He was drafted into the US Army and served one year at Ft. Dix, NJ and one year at Ft. Benning, GA. Don enjoyed visiting friends in Canada, going on vacations to Maine, mowing lawn, planting flowers, however his favorite chore was walking his best friend ‘Joey” his dog every day. He loved life, loved his family and friends, which he has many, country music and was always there to help others when needed. Everyone knows him as “Don.” He is loved by many and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He touched everyone’s heart who had the pleasure to know him.

He is survived by his sister Sharon L. Bergeron and best friend Linda Santiago her sister Barbara Evans and her daughter Brenda.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Don’s memorial service on Tuesday July 9, 2024 at 11 am in Messiah Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers those who wish may send memorial contributions to Messiah Lutheran Church 2850 Guilderland Ave. Schenectady, NY 12306.
