SCOTIA – Sadly, Peter W. Samuels AKA “Bad Dog” passed away at home suddenly on Tuesday March 5, 2024 at the age of 64. Peter was born in Watertown, NY on May 5, 1959 to the late Peter and Barbara Ann Vout Egan. Later, Peter would be adopted by Harold and Evelyn Samuels and raised as an only child. Peter was a people person, an avid outdoorsman, who also enjoyed traveling in his younger years. Later he settled down in Scotia Glenville, where he would remain until his final days. Peter was a lifelong Giants fan, a master carpenter, and a jack of all trades. Peter always had dreams of a big family and would go on to have seven children. He was predeceased by his son, Paul Samuels.
Peter is survived by his children, Peter S. Samuels, Jordan Colaruotolo, Dustin Samuels, Ann (Nicholas) Marx, Adam Samuels, Harold Samuels; stepchildren, John (Lindsey) McDonald, Courtney (Michael) Myers; grandchildren, Alexander Samuels, Victoria Samuels, Jaden Samuels, Lilianna Samuels, Mia Lafargue, Amya Marx, Colin Marx, Adam Samuels, Jr.; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Peter has been privately cremated. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday March 19th from 12 to 1pm, at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, followed by a memorial service at 1pm. He will then be buried in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. A gathering for friends and family will continue from 3 to 7pm at the American Legion located at 1809 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12309.
